What the apartment lacks in up to date amenities is balanced by the extraordinary responsiveness of the host. The building is a little dated and is primarily occupied by students. Although inside the building there was no particular/unusual noise, outside there was a lot of celebrating as the college right next to the building was finishing up the semester. There is a shelter right across the street so there are an unusual amount of homeless people in the immediate neighborhood. There is also a lot of foot traffic with the school, the Commons, the theaters nearby. The building itself is a well worn as is the apartment - on the other hand the apartment had a lot of space to spread out in. I think we got what the reviews implied - a good location and space that is a little dingy. The host answered several calls I had and was very helpful.
This apartment was just what we expected and needed - a (relatively) affordable apartment in a great location. We enjoyed easy check-in and access, and having Boston Commons right across the street. Very close to both orange and green T lines. The apartment was furnished as expected with no surprises. There were a few things here and there that could use some attention and the lobby/elevators were a bit messy, but nothing we could not live with. Excellent communication and follow up from hosts. This listing is managed by a company, not an individual, so felt more corporate than other Airbnb's we have stayed in, but that has its upsides as well. I balked at being asked to provide a photo of my ID, but it all turned out okay. Overall a great stay and wonderful spring weekend in Boston!
The place was just ok. I wish the lighting in the rooms was consistent and brighter. Unfortunately, the AC wasn't working either, which was a bit unpleasant. The location however was perfect!
