The apartment was clean and in a convenient location near the red and green lines. I think they will get to 5 stars soon. I give them 4 bc there were several issues that the host did not resolve. The customer service was responsive but not local, and they never put me in touch with a local person who could actually solve the issues. 1. The thermostat was locked. I would have liked the temp to be a bit cooler than what it was set to for sleeping. Also, the neighborhood is noisy, so I would have liked to run the fan overnight to block the noise. Several calls and no one was able to figure out how to unlock the thermostat. 2. The fob from the elevator was missing in the key box. I had to take the stairs. I let customer service know, but they never did anything. 3. There was no hand soap. I had to use body wash to wash my hands before eating. 4. There was no good place to plug in my phone near the bed. If these things can be corrected, I would give it 5 stars.
TLDR: Mostly good spot except for a couple things. The room was in a great location right next to the Boston Commons and a very quick walk to anywhere in the downtown area you need to go. It's a very short walk to the Park Street stop on the green line, and there were quite a few restaurants, places to shop, and convenient coffee shops just a short walk away. The place was easy to find and easy to access, and very private. Some visitors may get a little nervous because there are some houseless people that sleep a bit outside of the main doorway, but they are harmless. for where it is and as a room with a shower and kitchen to crash after a long day of exploring Boston, it's great. The host was somewhat responsive but ultimately unhelpful when the internet was not set up correctly and the AC was not turned on when we got there. I had to figure out how to turn it on myself. All in all, great for the value, not somewhere I would stay except as a place to sleep.
