everything was good
Evonify rented an apt w/ a dripping moldy ceiling that was leaking 4 at least a month & about to collapse. This was reported by another guest a week before. See the reviews. After reporting on the 1st day of a 5 day stay, I learned they terminated my stay via notification w/ no options or apology. I never talked to a human. Insult to injury, Evonify still charged the 100.00 cleaning fee & ~40% of what I paid up front. Support is very robotic & they 100% look out for themselves. Non responsive and disappeared after I reported the issue. 2 hours later, they told me to talk to AirBnB only. Be aware parking is over 1 block away & this may not the safest building. There were people sitting stoned in front of the elevators. Because of the leak, I asked to leave my bags in the hallway but was told they would not be safe there. The AirBnBs in this building seems to have the same couch which sinks close to the floor where you will hit your leg on the edge. Don't expect to be comfortable.
I have stayed at many AirB&Bs, this was by far my worst experience. To start off, the unit floor was dirty, sticky, and there was water damage on the roof. Not a small leak, a significant portion of the roof over the entrance showed water damage that had been there for some time. The owners of this room must not have stepped in here in a while, if they had they’d see the damage kept the room damp and humid. If you don’t have the AC running on constant fan, you’ll be sweating in minutes. Because of the humidity and uncleanliness, we had mosquitoes and flies in the room and no bug spray or bug repellent. I understand, New Jersey is humid in the summer; however, bug repellant should be standard in 2025, if not since 1985. Secondly, the utensils in the room were scratched up and many of the silverware & plates still had food stains on them. At best, the few utensils present in the room had been washed.
