I rented this unit for my parents for them to stay in over Christmas. Upon their departure (two days early), my mom said that I should leave a 1-star review, but that's not really fair. But there are things to be aware of should you choose to stay here. For one, my parents are country folks who have lived in a house (and before that a trailer) for three decades, so they're unaccustomed to having someone above them making noise, or any noises after 10 PM. Their first night, the upstairs neighbor was, according to my parents, playing loud music starting at 2 AM onward, and "stomping" around at all hours of the night. While visiting them during their visit, my mom pointed out this "stomping," and to be honest, it was a completely acceptable level of upstairs neighbor noise that you're probably accustomed to if you've ever had someone living above you. I'm not taking any stars off for that, since that's not the fault of the property owner and it's purely subjective, but potential future renters should be aware so that they can make informed decisions with regards to their own sensitivity to normal/standard urban noise. When they first arrived, there was an incessant beeping noise. We eventually located the source (a carbon monoxide detector with a low battery, under the kitchen counter), but while searching for the sound's origin, after confirming it was neither smoke detector or what I assume was the sound monitor mentioned in the rental agreement, I took my phone and held it above the edge of the cabinets and recorded a video to see if I could find a device that might be beeping, and was shocked to see a fairly high number of dead bugs up there. Not in a place that you would normally look, but definitely something that one would assume would be periodically checked and cleaned for a short term rental. There were a few other issues. The bed did not have a fitted sheet on it; my parents slept on top of the topsheet so that they were not sleeping directly on the bare mattress. Further, there was no toilet paper anywhere in the unit when they arrived. To their credit, Evonify was very communicative throughout the entire stay. When we first arrived, there was an undated note on the door (from the apartment complex) stating that the gas was currently off and not to use the stove or hot water. I was able to get in touch with Evonify quickly to confirm that this was from a different day earlier in the week and did not apply. They were also quick to respond when I called them a few minutes later to confirm that we would not be charged for checking the battery in the smoke detector(s) to check for the aforementioned beeping noise, as the strictures of this short term rental agreement are rather strict for an AirBnB, including the normal "please do not tamper with the smoke detectors" as well as the kinda overkilll "there are noise sensors in the wall to ensure that you do not exceed a certain decibel level, please do not tamper with them either." It's because of that quick responsiveness, as well as their quick issuance of a refund for the unused nights (despite that I reached out after the checkout date, which was very nice), that I've added a star back to this review despite the issues. They're all minor and fixable, so if it's been a while since this review was posted and there are positive reviews dated after this one, give these folks a try!
Very nice place, however there is a roach problem on the property. i wouldve been fine if it was 1-2 but there were so many we walked around the property with shoes on.
Was celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday for the weekend and we had another AirBnb in mind but were having issues with them. So we had to find one in Austin that was relatively close, not over $300 and also late at night. Sounds impossible, right? Keep in mind we were all extremely exhausted from walking around town and I was the only one in the group with a phone charged on 10%.. Safe to say we were all very stressed with no place to sleep at for the night. After searching for 1 1/2 hours sitting in an Insomnia Cookie and talking to Customer Support, we were FINALLY able to find a place with enough space, at a good rate, and able to instantly book with! Thank GOD we found Evonify’s listing for a cute and comfy apartment not too far from our location. They worked with us super fast and got us booked ASAP. I cannot thank y’all enough for saving my boyfriend’s birthday night!! We all had a great stay and will definitely book again the next time we’re in the area. ❤️❤️❤️
