First, this host / place combo forces you to pay a nonrefundable “security deposit” of an additional $100 outside of Airbnb before you’re able to get key codes and check in info. It’s that or lose your nonrefundable stay, and seems a very unethical move. Poor sound insulation plus abutting both a busy high traffic road (with one of those noisy metal plates from construction) and a major construction site, meant loud noises and no peace in the bedroom from 7am to midnight every day. The kitchen sink leaked. The bathroom sink leaked. The *bathtub* leaked. The bathroom floor was wet all the time as a result, and the bathroom cabinet where towels and toilet paper lived was wet and moldy (and all the towels and backup toilet paper were located there and soaked / moldy as a result). Toilet paper and paper towels were grade F quality. So were sheets and towels. There were no Kleenex / tissues whatsoever in the whole place. Several light fixtures were broken. There was no tv in the bedroom. The couches and chairs had rips and were bargain bin quality. So were the towels. Despite all this, and despite requesting a refund to leave and get *real * accommodations that weren’t leaking, moldy, and noisy, the host repeatedly tried to run out the clock, not responding for a day, then taking another day to reply to our response forcing us to stay in the moldy, wet, noisy, grade F quality place for 2 more days than we’d have liked, until we could complain and get a response from Airbnb directly (who were good and did get us our ability to leave and refund). Then after explaining and sending pictures to Airbnb, as we were eating a meal, Evonify made it a condition of our refund to literally pack and leave right then within half an hour, or not be able to leave / refund. Basically, we paid 3-4 star hotel prices for a bargain basement, leaking, moldy, and noisy place with an unresponsive host who tried forcing a maintenance person on us instead of eventually being persuaded by Airbnb to do the decent thing and refund us so we could find a decent place to sleep and enjoy our vacation. If you’d like the same experience, I highly recommend this host, Evonify.
