It was clean and perfect
I have been using Airbnb for a number of years and this is the first time I have ever had such a terrible experience. First off be warned that this location is not managed by someone physically familiar with the apartment. The help number they give you does not go to their company but instead to a service they used to triage customer service issues and the person on the other end is unable to help you …instead they can try to connect you to the company that does manage the apartment remotely. When I arrived at the unit the air conditioning was not working correctly and it was 100° in Austin. There was absolutely zero thermostat on the wall and when I contacted the helpline the person couldn’t tell me if there was indeed a thermostat that I was just not finding. It took 2 1/2 hours of me sitting in 100° heat for them to finally tell me that they were going to contact a maintenance person to come by and check the AC. By that time I told them I had to leave because it was too hot and find other accommodations for me and my children. After more than four hours of contacting them with no resolution on what had happened or the status of me getting a refund for my stay, I had to get Airbnb involved. Eventually Airbnb stepped in and refunded my money thank goodness because the host of this unit stopped communicating with me. They also make you put down $100 deposit off of the Airbnb app which I am pretty sure I’m not going to get back. Airbnb cannot help with that $100 deposit so be warned that you should tell them that you want to pay through Airbnb so that if something like this happens you can at least have Airbnb give you your full amount back, as of now I am sure I just lost $100 to just sit in a hot apartment with no communication.
Everything was good
