It was a bit of a rocky start with the confusion about the key fob (never needed it), the lack of towels, and sharing big bottles of shampoo (we had to search for them). During a Pandemic, sharing community bottles of anything is not idea. Having to ask for more towels for a 4-day stay with three people is not great either. Communication was constant, although with several different people, and it all got worked out. However, the place may sleep 5, but there is no way to sit more than 3 anywhere, and that is on top of each other. The location is great! Would come back, but the total cost is the same as the hotels in the area, so not a lot of economic incentive to do so. Still, a good place to stay in a great location.
Our reservation got changed last minute on check-in day, apparently due to plumbing issues. The listing owner, Evonify, messaged me saying they were switching to a nearby location, showed me pictures and I agreed to switch. The new location wasn't necessarily terrible, just not what we were expecting given the price we were paying. It felt cramped, it clearly was a 1 BR apartment turned into a 2BR using an extra wall. Bathroom was clean but old. Kitchen was much smaller. Walls were thin and you could hear lots of noise outside the apartment. All in all I was pretty upset but I did communicate with Evonify's customer support team and they offered me a 25% refund, but oddly claimed this refund was already intended when they made the location switch. I guess that's okay which is why I bumped this up to 3 stars.
Excellent location, very close to subway stops, the park, and tons of restaurants. The room itself was small but clean, the building overall was a bit dingy. The bathroom was cramped and had a weird layout, kind of difficult to do hair/skin/makeup routines at the sink, but for a short trip it was fine. Check in/check out were easy, no issues there.
