The pro to this unit is definitely the location. Very walkable to everything one can do in Boston, or to the nearest subway. The con is that it almost lives up to the description and pictures, but not quite. The unit is much darker than the pictures lead you to believe. There are only two windows in the unit and they do not provide enough natural light. The kitchen is small with minimal counter space, so don’t expect to do a lot of cooking, as there’s really nowhere to do prep. The shower is actually a bit of a safety hazard. The temperature fluctuates every minute or so, sending a jet of overly hot water at you. It needs a regulator. The space is TINY for two people. Unless you’re a couple who are used to that. The smaller bedroom has no dresser or clothes storage, so be prepared to live out of your suitcase. The building is very old and needs work. Elevator is small and slow. The noise is really bad, and I’m from NYC. Bring earplugs.
Our stay was 4 days long and it was an ok experience. I wouldn’t stay again due to the lack of appearance and functionality of the space. We were moved to a different room due to our prior one needing maintenance. We found this out the night before our trip and had no control over choosing where we were going to stay at that point. Evonify just rebooked our stay in a different room. The room that we were given was bigger but extremely outdated and had a lot open holes on the walls and the floors turned our socks black. Great for location and if you aren’t planning on staying there other than to sleep. However not relaxing or a beautiful place to end your night.
Overall, our stay was good, but there are a few things know. The location was amazing, it is across the street from the Green and Orange Lines of the T and from Boston Common. What to know is that the building is old. There are two elevators in the building, but only was operating, and they make a lot of noise. Apparently, that is the norm, so expect to wait. The apartment had partially been updated, but the bathroom was original and, while clean, still felt a little dingy. There were cracks in the wall and pieces of drywall/plaster that were chipping and peeling off. The kitchen is small but has the basics. Our TV remote did not work, and when we reported it, we were told it was the weekend, and they most likely could not replace it. I had to persist to get maintenance to look at it, and they eventually replace the entire TV, but then the Wifi did not work for the last night of our stay. For the price and the location, it was a good stay, but don't expect a fresh new apartment.
